Adding 3DO locations to a LW scene after export If you've exported a scene from VNS and have additional 3DO locations to export, that's no problem. Just add single-point vectors for the 3DOs and export a new LWS from VNS less the DEMs and imagery. Then use Import from scene in LW to import just the NULLs you need. Draping a planimetric render in LW Normally, the LW object export of ELEV terrain is intended as a reference within the respective program, not an object for rendering there. However, that's not to say it doesn't have its uses. Export the terrain as a LightWave object. Render a planimetric view of the DEM extents in WCS. Use the rendered image as a planar texture for the terrain object Surface in LW. There'll be much less terrain detail in LW, but it's a good technique for realtime games and virtual reality applications. File format for compositing in WCS ExtendedRLA or ExtendedRPF, your choice. I hear they may still be buggy, though I haven't had any problems with them in WCS or VNS yet. LW_ExtendedRLAExport Problems One user had problems getting LW[6.5] to export RLAs with a depth channel.
