This 3D scene uses more
than 11 species of tropical lowland evergreen rainforest trees.
Each species
is represented by models of young, adult, and mature trees. Tree
heights are stratified in 3 layers to
reproduce the giant emergent canopy (~40 meters), main stratum
(~30 m), and shade-dwelling trees
(~10 m). Smaller trees are visible through "windows"
in the canopy.
