Description

If you want an elevated view of Nā Pali, a challenging hike, and no crowds, this is the trail. Of course, you'll have to pay for it with a steep climb out, but it's worth it. Or will be in hindsight.

How to get there

Take State Highway 550 into Waimea Canyon. Park at the Koke'e Museum. Walk a short distance back down the highway to the trailhead on the right.

Notes

Start early to avoid the crowds. Take plenty of water and drink it.
